And the Winner is…

And the winner is.....me. I'm so pleased to announce that my new service dog from Canine Companion for Independence is Iago II.  Although he's only been home for a few days, we work so well together. He's smart, affectionate and darn good looking. He's the perfect dog for me at the perfect time. We all know that he has some big paws to fill after Napal and Rue, but I know he's up to the task and he will make his own legacy. Iago's nickname and the name we'll be calling him is Yago, which means "May God protect"

Special thanks to Ron and Mary Patterson who were "Yago's" puppy raisers out of Houston. I can never thank you enough for raising such an amazing dog and the sacrifice of having to give him up after 18 months. I promise you that we'll make you very proud.

Thanks to Canine Companions for Independence, the staff, trainers, donors and puppy raisers. You're changing the lives of so many. I am truly grateful.
