The Canine Companions for Independence dogs that changed and are changing my life

Napal

Napal, R.I.P

Thank you for being such a great friend. I cannot thank you enough for the way you changed my life. You brought me out of a dark world into a place where I never could have imagined being after my injury. Thank you for your loyalty, friendship and always being there for me…through the best and worst of times.

Rue, Retired

Rue was the perfect dog for me at that time in my life. She was full of energy and loved to work. She had a unique personality that everyone fell in love with and you never knew what she’d do next. She was a wonderful companion and now she’s retired in style as she deserves.

Yago, Active Duty

I'm so pleased to announce that my new service dog from Canine Companion for Independence is Iago II. Although he's only been home for a few days, we work so well together. He's smart, affectionate and darn good looking. He's the perfect dog for me at the perfect time. We all know that he has some big paws to fill after Napal and Rue, but I know he's up to the task and he will make his own legacy. Iago's nickname and the name we'll be calling him is Yago, which means "May God protect"
